Who are we?
We’re Andrew and Jason—two small South African business owners who got tired of chasing leads and quotes manually. Andrew runs a guest lodge, and Jason builds websites. Different industries, same struggle: WhatsApp was clearly the best way to convert visitors into bookings… but actually making that happen was a nightmare.You’d think sending a quote via WhatsApp would be easy, right? But it wasn’t. There was no straightforward way to connect our websites to WhatsApp and automate the process. We weren’t just looking for another ping that said “Hi”—we needed full conversations, automated follow-ups, and smart replies that could do the talking when we couldn’t.
The real lightbulb moment came when we realised most client replies were repetitive—“Hi,” “Is someone there?”, “Can I book?”—and we were wasting time replying manually. So we built a simple bot that responded instantly with a friendly menu. Boom—our workload dropped immediately. From there, we added follow-ups, quoting workflows, and smart chat widgets for our websites. It grew, piece by piece, to exactly what we needed as business owners who don’t have full-time sales teams.
Yes, there were tools out there. But they were either too expensive, too complicated, or just didn’t “get” how small South African businesses operate. So we built our own—and WAFlowBot was born.
